What's more exciting than when your favorite vehicle receives updates in a new model year? For 2022, the iconic Lincoln Navigator SUV gets some design updates, new technology, and luxurious comforts inside and out. The 2022 Navigator may not appear much different from the previous year, but enhancements aren't always visible on the surface.

Design and Technology

You're first greeted by a modified front grille and new exterior lighting. The cabin gets an upgrade from the previous model's 10-inch infotainment display, which increases to a 13.2-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The infotainment gets the new Sync 4 software and two new Black Label themes: Central Park and Invitation.

New Black Label Themes

The Central Park theme comes with interior trim of open-pore dark walnut wood and a laser-etched map of the famous park on the instrument panel. The Invitation theme dons open-pore Kai wood trim with an etched geometric pattern, black leather upholstery, and brandy-colored stitching. Both trims provide front passengers with 30-way power-adjustable seats, equipped with an upgraded massaging feature. Passengers in the second row will enjoy heated and ventilated seats, plus optional seat massage capabilities.

Driver-Assist Features

The new Active Glide driving semi-autonomous mode gets its Lincoln Navigator debuts in the 2022 model. Active Glide allows drivers to have a genuine hands-free driving experience. New interior alerts and sounds—recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra—are introduced in the new Navigator. The new model also includes a forward-facing camera, similar to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which coordinates with an adaptive suspension to absorb uneven roads and deliver a smoother ride.

Performance

You can choose between the short wheelbase and the extended L body style. However, the Reserve trim adds popular luxury components such as a power-adjustable steering wheel, a head-up display, and various driver-assist systems for increased safety. A Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package and an all-wheel-drive are available to compliment the Navigator SUV's 8,700-pound tow rating.
