Mr. Beau Townsend purchased Don Wagner Ford in 1976 and changed the name to Beau Townsend Ford. The dealership is still located at the original location in Vandalia, Ohio across from the Dayton International Airport. Larry Taylor was brought in as a Finance Manager and became Managing Partner in 1989 after working his way up in the company.

Larry Taylor wanted to expand the dealership and had the opportunity to purchase a Nissan franchise from Frank Z Imports in 2001. This was an ideal time to become a Nissan dealer, with the success of the Altima and the excitement surrounding the release of the then-upcoming 350Z, the new generation of the classic 280Z. The Nissan dealership was initially located on Poe Avenue in Dayton. In 2005, a new Nissan building was opened at the present location beside the Ford dealership in Vandalia. 50 new employees were hired toaccommodate the growth.

The Lincoln brand is the most recent addition. Beau Townsend and Larry Taylor wanted to become Lincoln dealers for many years and were able to purchase Lincoln-Mercury of Dayton from The Martin Group in May of 2010. When the Mercury brand was dropped, Lincoln moved to Vandalia and integrated into the current Ford dealership.

Beau Townsend Auto Group has 214 employees in Vandalia and is proud to be locally owned. The dealership actively supports the Vandalia community as well as the Miami Valley.
